One of the biggest moments of Saturday’s Gene Clark tribute: The governor of Missouri made an official proclamation recognizing Gene as an important Missourian, and officially designating November 17th as Gene Clark Day in the State of Missouri.
The warm acclaim for Gene Clark has been so powerfully felt all weekend long. On today, which would have been his 70th birthday, I just want to tell him thank you for his beautiful music and for touching so many souls so deeply. We love you, Gene. Happy Birthday, baby.
What I did this past weekend: Hung out at a friend’s barn Friday night while RICK CLARK (brother of Gene) rehearsed with a couple of other musicians. And then…on Saturday…the Gene Clark 70th Birthday tribute in Tipton!
In honor of the anniversary of Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, & Jones Ltd.’s release, here is “Love Is Only Sleeping,” one of our favorite songs/videos from the album.
There is also a super slashy fic on NakedPersimmon.com that is based on this video. It’s a Torklenzmith fic by gondorbunny, titled He Looked At Me (click the link to read!).
Thanks for the nod, hun. :)
